Rita Calle Memorial

Hello my name is Michelle Cram, Rita Calle's daughter. I'm writing this on behalf of me and my brother Marc Alan, asking for your help.

My mother, Rita Calle, passed away on Thursday, March 28th. She had been working very hard to take care of our grandma Rosa, who lives with severe dementia. On March 7th, Mom called to let me know that she was in a lot of chest pain. She ended up being hospitalized for 11 days and treated for aortic inflammation (aortitis). Mom was discharged from the hospital on Monday, March 18th and two days later, had to be rushed back for emergency cardiac surgery. She had suffered an aortic dissection (tear), lost a lot of blood and ended up in a coma. After waiting almost a week for her to awake, the doctors were able to perform several tests and determined she had suffered a major stroke and permanent damage to several vital organs. The doctors explained that "if" our mother were to wake from her coma, she was going to endure a very poor quality of life. The family made the very difficult decision and gathered to say our final goodbyes that Thursday evening.

Mom was our lifeline. She was always the first one to lend a hand and loved to make everyone laugh. We are missing her so much. She leaves behind her Son (Marc), Sister (Gavi), Mother (Rosa) and me, her daughter.

I am now asking for your assistance. Mom was still a relatively young woman, and this came very unexpectedly. We are overwhelmed by the planning and expenses that are involved in losing a loved one. In addition, I have taken over the care of my grandmother full time that began when my mom was hospitalized. In lieu of flowers, I am asking for your assistance in helping us raise funds to cover cremation costs, a Celebration of Life for our mom and help with any unforeseen expenses that might be accrued by our grandmother's care. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read through our recent loss. It has been a difficult month losing my mother. We begin a new chapter in our lives as we remember my mom’s giving heart and continue to care for our grandma.
