Risky Business performances at bemix!
Donation protected
We are Risky Business, a performing arts group run by people with and without learning difficulties and disabilities! We are part of bemix based in Sittingbourne at The Avenue Theatre and in Canterbury at West Track Studios.
The pandemic has massively set back our work. As we are considered to be part of the Social Care sector, we were under different restrictions to other theatre groups. We have been working on these pieces for a good while now and we have been given the go ahead to finally put them on for live audiences. We are asking for donations in order to hire the venue spaces for this!
In Sittingbourne, we are hoping to put on a live show at The Avenue Theatre and in Canterbury, we want to host a cinema screening of a film we have made! Both pieces are comedic portrayals of some lucky staff at bemix, celebrating our 20th anniversary!
Both groups will be taking part in various sponsored events in the hope to reach our goal of £200 by March 2023! The events will be held on 24th Feb, including:
- Grace doing a 5k Park Run
- Henry doing a 1000m swim
- Louis cycling from Herne Bay to Whitstable
- Sammy cycling 500 metres
- Leon G doing a 5k Park Run
- Matt doing a sponsored weightlifting session, lifting 80kg at the gym.
We hope to take pictures throughout to show you our progress and we will all take a photo on the day to show what we’ve done!
Please do consider donating so the groups can showcase their hard work and skills developed in these pieces! You could even come along to watch too!
Thanks, from Risky Business!
