Rising Star Abood needs help with OPDL soccer training fees
Donation protected
Abood Aljalam came to Canada with his family as refugees from Syria in 2016 when he was 6. Today he is a happy, hardworking, 14 year old budding soccer star. Having just started grade 9 and working part-time, he needs $5,000 to support his passion for soccer. He has been recently awarded with an opportunity to join the Ontario Player Development League to the Kingston United (14 year old players). The cost related to this program and expenses is $5,000. The OPDL organization is a non profit group that helps develop local talent in various sports.
Please help Abood to pull together the require funding to be able to participate in this program.
Abood and his friend Hamid have been working hard all year to raise funds by snow-shoveling, window-cleaning and handy-man work.
Abood's family were absolutely thrilled to recently receive this notification from the OPDL. However they don't the resources to cover it.
Here he is short video of Abood making a great header goal in Quinte West this past August.
Your support will be so much appreciated! This program provides really good coaching and intensive training and travel around Ontario.
Knowing Abood, with all his enthusiasm, dedication and talent, we may have a future soccer star in Kingston. Thank you so much.
My name is Annette Wilde and I was involved with the family sponsorship and continue to be amazed with how well they have adapted to this country and with all their various accomplishments.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
