On September 13, 2023, my battle buddy, brother in arms, and dear friend suffered a devastating motorcycle crash that changed his life forever. In the blink of an eye, he went from living life to the fullest to fighting for his recovery after a horrific accident that left him with severe injuries.
In that first week alone, he underwent three grueling surgeries. His left wrist was an open fracture, and both wrists were severely damaged, while his hip and pelvis were fractured beyond what anyone could imagine. The physical toll was immense, resulting in permanent metal now residing in his hip and both wrists. He spent two long weeks in the hospital, battling pain and uncertainty, only to be transferred to a senior living center for rehabilitation and recovery. This transition, while necessary, was a harsh reminder of the long road ahead. He remained in rehab until December 2023, and it wasn’t until January 2024 that he finally returned home, still in the grips of recovery.
Despite his determination, the journey has been far from easy. Over the course of his recovery, he has undergone a total of five additional surgeries—two more in July 2024 and as recent as August 2024—each one a painful reminder of the accident and the continued struggle that lies ahead.
While he was initially covered under city insurance, the financial burden has been overwhelming. The costs of ambulance transport to appointments, ongoing physical therapy, and the numerous surgeries have piled up, leaving him with over $7,000 in medical bills even after what insurance covered. This staggering amount forced him into medical loans, struggling to keep up with payments while dealing with the stress of collections threatening to take action due to past-due balances.
This is where we need your help. We are raising $8,000 to alleviate the financial strain on my friend as he navigates this challenging chapter of his life. Your generous contributions will not only help cover his medical expenses but will also provide him with peace of mind as he focuses on healing and rebuilding his life.
Funds will be used to cover medical costs and to help with bills that have fallen behind.
No one should have to face such a harrowing ordeal alone and unfortunately he had very little support throughout this whole terrifying experience. I myself only recently learned that he has been suffering in silence and did not have a lot of support. I wish I helped sooner, but we can all help now!
Together, we can show him that he is not alone in this fight, that he has a community rallying around him. Every dollar counts, and your support can make a profound difference in his recovery journey.
Please consider donating today and sharing his story with others. Let’s help him find hope and healing in the midst of struggle. Thank you for your kindness and support.
