Rising Above the Fall: A Message of Hope

Donation protected
1 in 2 people have a family member or friend who has been incarcerated. *

In Texas alone, more than 40,000 people were denied parole last year. ** That’s over 40,000 families experiencing heartbreak, uncertainty, and the emotional weight of delay. My husband, Arnulfo, was one of them.

His third parole denial hit us hard. It tested our faith, stretched our strength, and brought us face-to-face with painful questions: How do you hold onto hope when it feels like everything is working against you? How do you comfort a heart that keeps getting broken?

Instead of giving up, we chose to rise above the fall.

Together, we wrote a book—"To Rise Above the Fall"—not just as a reflection of our story, but as a guide for others who feel forgotten, delayed, or dismissed. It’s a message to every incarcerated man or woman, and every loved one who waits, prays, and hopes:

You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You are not beyond God’s reach.

The link below to the complete draft of the book will be available until August 25th, 2025, so that you can experience the heart, message, and potential impact this book can have on those navigating parole denials or life’s most difficult moments. Also, those who donate prior to August 25th, will be able to be immortalized by being named a founding benefactor within the book itself. ***

What This Book Offers
More than just a story, this book is filled with:

Authentic reflections from both the incarcerated perspective and the family's side
Devotional-style insights that speak to faith, grief, forgiveness, and growth
Journal prompts to help readers process their emotions and reconnect with their purpose
Powerful visuals that bring the message to life

It’s written in a way that anyone—whether inside prison walls or navigating life on the outside—can connect with deeply.

Why We Need Your Help
Our mission is to distribute this book free of charge to incarcerated individuals across Texas and beyond. We're partnering with:

Prison ministries
Chaplaincies
Parole attorneys

We want to ensure that this message of hope reaches those who need it, especially those facing a parole denial.

The publishing distribution of the book will be September 1, 2025.

We’ve set a goal to raise enough funds to print 40,000 books in bulk bundles of 20, with each copy costing just $6 to produce (retail price: $10), available September 1, 2025 on Amazon KDP. Your contribution will help us cover:

Early Praise for the Book
"Arnulfo and his wife, Leila, have written something more than a book—they’ve poured out their hearts so that others who feel forgotten, broken, or delayed might know they are not alone."
—Mark Morales, Foreword Author, The Law Offices of Mark Morales & Associates, P.C.

"Then the powerful truth you deal with together: pain, loss, what then, hope and purpose! Wow. LOVE the pictures with explanations. The journaling scripts almost seem too simple—UNLESS YOU ARE LIVING THE PAIN! Then they are deep and real. Thank you for these."
—Pastor Percy J. Smerek, Kairos Volunteer

Our Hope
This book is just the beginning. It's a reminder that even in our lowest moments, God is still writing our story. That second chances are real. That broken people can still be used to bring healing to others.

We believe To Rise Above the Fall will plant seeds of encouragement, renewal, and faith in thousands of lives across Texas and beyond.

Join Us
If you’ve ever felt the pain of waiting, if you believe in redemption, if you want to help restore hope where it’s been lost—please stand with us.

Together, we can place this book in the hands of someone sitting behind bars, struggling to believe they still have a future. Together, we can remind them that even if they’ve been set back—they are not set aside.

Thank you for being part of this mission. May God bless you richly for your compassion and support.

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace... will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
