In early March of this year my BeYOUtiful momma Donna Reimus was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer. The news hit us all like a ton of bricks but me an my family all knew that cancer had nothing on the strong woman that my mom is! After finding out her cancer was stage 2, she quickly started treatment including six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation to shrink the tumor. She then underwent surgery for removal of the bowel involved and an ileostomy placement. None of this has been a walk in the park but my mom has the most positive outlook on life and her human experience, it's truly admirable. After her first surgery we were overjoyed to find out that the biopsy of her intestines showed no evidence of cancer where the tumor was, nor in surrounding lymph nodes; chemo and radiation had worked successfully! On September 2nd my mom went in for her second surgery, the reversal of her ileostomy. She knew recovery would be not be easy and there would be so much her body would have to relearn and endure, but mid September she began to have some unusual symptoms including intolerance to food, intermittent fevers, extreme lethargy, etc. She had been on antibiotics here and there throughout her treatment and now another antibiotic to try and treat her current symptoms. On Friday October 2nd after an unsuccessful response to the antibiotic she went to the ER for further care. She has been diagnosed with C. Diff Colitis and has since received specific antibiotic therapy to treat this infection, she had a PICC line placed and will be receiving nutrition through her veins. She is currently still in the hospital and they are trending her white blood cell count.

My mom has gone through this journey with such grace and positivity, it is hard to believe sometimes that she was sick. I know that this GoFundMe account is not something she would normal want me to do for her or my dad, Jay, but I know that my parents would do anything to help me and my siblings as well as any other family who was in their shoes. This account will help with medical bills, any further treatments, insurance, groceries, etc.
To my mom who is my hero, a woman who holds so much Beauty, you are everything I want to be (EIW2B), I love you!
