Dear Friends,
To say that Ben Pepper is a lover of life is an understatement. He needs our support to help him regain access to the life he loves and deserves and shares with most of you.
Early Christmas morning, as he was getting ready to celebrate with family Ben collapsed. Thankfully Erin was there and he received quick medical attention. He was diagnosed as having a stroke in his left brain due to a blood clot that traveled through his heart to the brain. After nearly 13 days in ICU, Ben has been transported to a stroke rehabilitation hospital where he will undergo extensive occupational, physical and speech therapy.
Having lost much of his physical ability on the right side of his body, he is working hard to walk and regain function and strength. He is unable to speak which has been a source of frustration. Ben is one of the strongest men most of us know and he is determined to overcome this bump in the road.
Fortunately, Ben has health insurance thanks to the Electricians Union but he still has extensive medical bills due to co-pays and deductibles that he has to pay for both for 2018 and 2019. Currently his dogs are being fostered by friends as Erin has been by his side in the hospital nearly 24/7. He needs help with medical expenses and let's raise a little to buy those dogs some toys and food too since we know how much they mean to him!
(From Erin) One of the things that continues to amaze me about Ben is how tight his friendship circle is. I know that all of you look at friendship as family and we have felt that love and support. Please only pass this along through email or text message as we do not want it all over social media (Ben would hate that). We want to thank you in advance for your generosity and overall love for both of us.
Let's do what we can to show our brother this support in his time of need. Please make a donation if you can and more than anything, please keep him in your daily thoughts. We will send out a schedule to sign-up for visits as soon as the rehabilitation center has him stabilized and his therapy schedule is normalized.
Again, Let’s Rise Up and Show him that WE GOT YOU...just like he’s shown most of us that he has us in time of need.
