Rise Fundraiser In Memory of Patrick Welna
On March 14th 2021 we lost Patrick Welna, one of the kindest, most joyful, and inspirational souls that this world has had a chance to experience. Patrick was an incredible son, brother, uncle, friend, and partner. He was taken from us too soon, but the impact he made on every single person he met will last lifetimes.
Patrick had an old soul and was wise beyond his years. He was deeply spiritual and had the ability to connect with anyone and make a difference in their lives. He was a huge movie buff, loved nature, biking, reading, and spending time with his loved ones. Patrick had the most contagious laugh and could make everyone around him smile. He was a dreamer, and never saw any limits to what he could do with his life. He inspired so many to dream as bravely as he did.
Patrick spent his entire adult years working with non-profit organizations and working tirelessly to help those who need it most. His goal in life was to motivate and inspire others to be the best versions of themselves so that they too could make a positive impact on the world. In his short time on this earth, he was able to spread happiness, wisdom, and strength to everyone he knew.
Patrick was passionate about entrepreneurship and mentorship. His love for entrepreneurship began as early as middle school when he started his own small business. From there, he continued to seek out new opportunities and would encourage those around him to do the same. He believed that everyone has the power within themselves to make meaningful change. Rise empowers Canadians with mental health and addiction challenges to achieve greater economic and social inclusion through entrepreneurship training, small business loans and custom supports. Their programs are specifically designed to help youth launch their small businesses through free courses and mentorship.
This organization is one Patrick would have loved to be a part of and its mission coincides with what he wanted to do with his life.
