RISE Delaware GOFUNDME 2: January 2024 Update

RISE Delaware is fighting to protect the healthcare retirement benefits earned by State of Delaware employees for their years of service to the State. The State promised us an excellent Medicare supplement plan. It should deliver.

But in 2022, the State underhandedly tried to take away that benefit and offload retirees into a dollar store Medicare (Dis)Advantage plan filled with 2,030 harmful prior authorization requirements, restrictive networks of doctors, and endless hidden cost-sharing fees. We fought back with a lawsuit in the Delaware Superior Court. Our victorious effort came at great expense and the remaining debt to our dedicated lawyers is still substantial. They deserve to be fully paid.

Now, the State has pointlessly appealed our victory to the Delaware Supreme Court. So, we are forced to raise additional funds to pay for fighting the State’s appeal. We need, conservatively, to raise an additional $220,000 (on top of the $70,000 already raised here) to cover past, present, and future legal costs, along with administrative costs (corporate fees, website, email service, etc.).
