My name is Robert Kaldawi author of A Ripple In The Pond (arippleinthepond.com).

This is a historical narration that depicts events which, collectively helped shape my life story and our world today.

On the basis of my memoirs, I helped produce a compelling commercial story with worldwide appeal which explores the many sides to the complex issues around Israel and Palestine.

I approached this project with humility and balance, so that multiple perspectives can exist in the same space, sometimes in contrast with one another, but ultimately in search of a greater, harmonious truth.

Could I help to inspire legitimate and fair resolution to the Palestinian Cause as we watch and learn from the Ripple Effect that's led our world to today's messy dilemma.

In 1917, British Foreign Secretary Lord Balfour articulated his government's

Declaration. He expressed support for establishing Palestine as a homeland for both Jews and Arab Palestinians.

Following World War One, Jewish migration to Palestine surged, particularly as Hitler rose to power in the 1930s, prompting Jews from Europe and the Middle East to join those already living there.

Tensions escalated in the 1920s and 1930s, leading to violence and massacres on both sides. The British, administering Palestine under a Mandate, struggled to control the unrest as Jewish and Arab militias formed. As Nazi persecution intensified, discussions about the need for a Jewish state gained urgency within British and American governments.

In 1947, the United Nations proposed partitioning Palestine into a Jewish state, an Arab state, and an independent Jerusalem. Shortly thereafter, Jewish leaders proclaimed the establishment of Israel, fulfilling part of the UN plan. However, neighboring Arab nations rejected the proposal as fighting emerged resulting in the displacement of Palestinians from their towns and villages. These refugees, scattered around the Arab World, still maintain their right of return - just as fervently as the Jews'. Israeli militia like the Haganah along with British military

From 1947 to 1948, over 700,000 Palestinians fled, often coerced by Jewish militia attacks aimed at instilling fear. Notable incidents included the King David Hotel bombing in 1946 and the Deyr Yassin massacre in 1948. By the end of the war;

Israeli forces had seized about 60% of the land designated for a Palestinian state, while Jordan annexed East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and Egypt took control of Gaza. The USA was the first to recognise the new state of Israel.

In the decades that followed, Israel 's aggression (1967 Six-Day War ) enabled it to conquer over the occupied territories which include West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, as well as parts of the Sinai Peninsula, which was later returned to Egypt after the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Settlements then began which drew international condemnation, with many viewing them as a form of

apartheid.

Throughout the years, Palestinian resistance grew, leading to the emergence of groups like Hamas. Tensions boiled over again on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched an attack on Israel, killing over 1,200 civilians and taking 251 people hostage. This prompting a massive military response from Israeli to free the hostages and dismantle Hamas.

Almost 100,000 Palestinian have since died, mostly civilians and children leading to a wide destruction of Gaza, and a deepening humanitarian crisis as a whole population becomes displaced yet again after 1948 and 1967. A man-made famine resulted in further deaths of children and even more worldwide condemnation as the conflict persists without any hope form peace in the near future.

This movie's PLOT OVERVIEW is following the October 7th, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel, Tony Kalawi, a Professor from Melbourne, Australia reveals his Palestinian heritage to his daughter, Anna, an idealistic young woman just finishing her medical studies. Stunned by this revelation about her identity, angry at her father for hiding it from her all these years and unwilling to stand by as Palestinian civilians suffer under Israel's military response, Anna volunteers for Doctors Without Borders to treat the wounded and malnourished in Gaza.

Tony, who has sacrificed immensely to provide Anna with a better life in Australia after fleeing the Middle East years before, cannot understand Anna's anger at him or her desire to "throw away" the secure future that he has worked so hard to provide for her.

He begs her not to go to the Middle East and warns her that she is making a huge mistake, one that might cost her life. But Anna won't listen, and when she tells Tony that she intends to go no matter what and asks for his blessing, Tony refuses to give it, creating a further rift between them.

The plot continues on full of dramatic based on real stories events which have been shaping the misery surrounding the occupied territories.

The movie attempts to show the truth behind the conflict in order to reveal compelling solutions to such misery which surrounded Palestinians since the start of the last century. The hope in the end is to inspire audiences throughout the world to empower their governments to produce a unanimous decision for a fair and just resolution to this never ending conflict.

Our hope is to begin our path towards Peace in that region.

The funds will be totally used to produce the film and enable us to receive even more funding from appropriate Australian, Qatari, French and other governments that may be interested in resolving this never ending conflict.
