Hi, my name is Georgia, I have created this funding campaign for my dear friend Lizzy who has been left utterly heartbroken after her beautiful baby boy Kai decided to spread his wings and fly to heaven.

Kai Kai was a little eager to meet his beautiful mumma resulting in being born prematurley at just 24 weeks plus 3 days on 20.10.15 weighing a tiny 1lb 8oz.

Kai was a determined little fighter from day one. Kai fought strongly every day of every week; every hour of every day; and every second of every minute. We were told by the doctors on 2 occasions that Kai may not make it through the night. However, Kai didnt let the doctors thoughts win, Kai fought that little bit more and proved them wrong!

Unfortunately Kai began to develop problems with his
heart and lungs, thus resulting in multiple problems and complications. Regardless of this, Kai wasnt going to let this get in his way, and so, he continued to fight.

Sadly, things really did turn from bad to worse and things did not look hopeful. Kai's lungs were getting tired, he just couldnt do this anymore.

As parents, Lizzy and her partner Joe's one wish was to have been able to cuddle and love their baby in a room on their own, not surrounded by other babies; nurses; doctors; beeps; alarms; crying and just pure loud noises, they had never experienced the normality that every parent and baby does. However, in such desperation to have a last memory with their baby in a somewhat 'normal' way, their dream was fulfilled- the NICU staff did everything they could and created a bedroom in one of the side medical rooms for them to love Kai in private. What was only expected to be an hour or so with him, he actually gave them a whole 33 hours worth of fighting. This gave them the chance to have some normality in a room on their own with him and love him in an environment they never experienced. They had lots of cuddles in bed, played with him and watched him be the cheeky chap that he was! They didn't sleep at all in the time they had Kai with them in the room. When they finally got some rest, snuggled up in bed with him in bed on the second night, dear Kai decided he was ready to go and could do as he knew his mummy and daddy were resting too.

Sadly, Kai passed away peacefully whilst sleeping on April 1st 2016 at 3:07am aged just short of 6 months.

Kai has touched so many peoples hearts, even many people that didn't even have the privilege of meeting him. We are all left heart broken and saddened by Kai's passing. I have spent the last few days feeling completley empty and helpless, wondering just what i could do to help my beautiful, amazing, broken-hearted friend. This funding compaigning idea came in to my mind which I thought was a lovely way for us all to come together and show Lizzy & Joe just how much love we have for that beautiful little prince of theirs. By raising funds for Kai he could have the most beautiful send off he deserves as well as the most beautiful special head stone you could ever imagine whereby, his mummy and daddy can sit and talk to him knowing the head stone was created by the masses of love that so many people have for their dear little boy, Kai.

Hitting the whopping target of 2k would mean so much to Lizzy & Joe by bringing them great comfort in knowing just how many people cared and loved Kai from the day he entered this world. I have set this high target because I know Kai has touched a massive amount of peoples hearts (even people that dont actually know Kai, please feel free to donate). This is going to be easilly achievable. So please guys, lets pledge, it's the least we can do?
