Blake's Funeral Fund
Donation protected
I'm asking for help to cover the funeral costs for my niece, Blake Addison Blair (January 28, 2016 - June 22, 2016).
This precious little girl was born with a condition called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) where her diaphragm (the muscle below her lungs that is extremely important for breathing) had a hole in it. This affected the development of her lungs, and she was born with underdeveloped and sick lungs. Along with CDH, she had Pulmonary Hypertension, which put a lot of stress on her heart and made it even harder for her to breathe. Even though she had surgery when she was only one day old to repair the hole in her diaphragm, her lungs just kept getting sicker. She never had the chance to fully breathe on her own. And on the evening of June 22nd, she took her last breath.
We are all heartbroken over our loss, but the people most devastated are her mom, dad and sister: Nicole, Aaron and Brooklynn. Since Blake had been in the NICU since the day she was born. Nicole was unable to go back to work, taking away half the family's income. And Aaron has had to take time off of work periodically, so they both could spend as much time with Blake while she lived in the hospital.
The costs of a baby's funeral and burial can be anywhere from $4,000-$10,000. They never imagined they'd have to plan for a funeral. With a greatly reduced income and all the added costs of commuting to San Francisco to see their daughter, money has been more than tight. The family appreciates any gifts you feel compelled to give.
She will forever be in our hearts, and while we will miss her, we take solace knowing she is no longer suffering and struggling to breathe.
