My name is Maribel Alejandre. I am one of the daughters of Salvador Cervantes. My wonderful dad passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 due to COVID, after a week in the hospital.
Like all of us, my family has been terribly affected by this pandemic, but we’re experiencing a breath-taking amount of sorrow. The youngest of my brothers passed away a few months ago in July. Shortly after that, the oldest of my brothers was hospitalized for 4 months. Thankfully, he is now back home recovering. Then, two weeks later, three more family members were hospitalized: my dad, my mom and my sister, within a day apart. We are grateful that my mom is now back home, recovering. However, my sister is still in the hospital. We are all praying that she recovers soon. My father is survived by my mother Ofelia Trujillo, his wife of more than 63 years, 6 children: Piedad, Rigoberto, Martha, Gustavo, Lupe, and Maribel, 24 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Thank you to all of you who have reached out to help during these difficult times. My family and I are very thankful for any donation small or big. We are grateful for you keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
Please share my story so that it helps promote awareness for people to stay home, do not gather outside your households, especially during the coming holidays, and continue to wear your masks. We do not want any family to go -through what we are experiencing. Let’s all do our part to stop this horrible virus!

Mi nombre es Maribel Alejandre, soy la hija menor de Salvador Cervantes. Nuestro padre maravilloso falleció debido a Covid el viernes 18 de Diciembre después de una semana de estar hospitalizado.
Al igual que a muchos esta pandemia a afectado enormemente a nuestra familia y estamos pasando nuevamente por un gran dolor. Chava, el menor de mis hermanos murió en julio. En seguida nuestro hermano mayor estuvo gravemente hospitalizado durante cuatro largos meses. Estamos agradecidos de que se sigue recuperando ahora en casa. Hace dos semanas mis padres y mi hermana fueron hospitalizados solo con un día de diferencia. Gracias a Dios mi mamá está continuando su recuperación en casa. Mi hermana aún sigue en estado crítico y continuamos rezando por su pronta recuperación.
A mi padre le sobreviven su esposa de más de 63 años, Ofelia Trujillo. Seis hijos: Piedad, Rigoberto, Martha, Gustavo, Lupe y Maribel. Veinticuatro nietos y catorce bisnietos.
Gracias a todos los que nos han brindado su amor y su apoyo en estos momentos tan difíciles. Nuestra familia está agradecida por sus donaciones y por mantenernos en sus pensamientos y continuas oraciones.
Por favor compartan nuestra experiencia para crear conciencia, quédense en casa y no se congreguen con personas fuera de su hogar especialmente en los próximos días festivos. No bajen la guardia y continúen usando sus mascarillas. No queremos que ninguna otra familia sufra lo que nosotros hemos vivido. Hay que poner de nuestra parte para ponerle un alto a este virus horrible.
