RIP PSYCHIC SCHOOL

The day has come.

December 2009 I moved into an already historic punk house on 25th and Lyndale. The first crew of freak residents renamed it Psychic School of Dream Actualization and thus began a very whacky journey. Over the next decade plus this silly little home would play host to countless big loves, big heartbreaks, so many houseguests, band practices, parties, pets and friends. Its been chaotic, magical, difficult, and the bright sun by which my whole adult life has orbited around.

For the past 12 years 30+ people have called Psychic School their home. (Some more than once!) I know even more of you who never officially lived here would still consider it a kind of psychic home base. This house has been such a communal space for so long, always finding new ways to evolve into something more than just a place that people live. It has been the honor of my life to be its caretaker and steward and I’m asking now for something I never ask for, help lol.

I now face the task I’ve been dreading for the past 12 years and that is MOVING OUT OF PSYCHIC SCHOOL. If you have ever lived here, partied here, punched a hole in the basement ceiling, been cared for or babied by an inhabitant or by the house itself, crashed on the couch, played a show, shared a meal, or shared your love with this house, it would be so much to me if you could toss a couple bucks my way.

All funds will go toward moving costs; dumpsters, uhauls, cleaning, time lost at work, etc.

There’s not much else to say except thank you so much and always remember, live music brings us all together.
