Just a couple of hours after getting back from the hospital, my friend Hannah received the heartbreaking call from the vet — Indy’s condition was rapidly deteriorating. She couldn’t lift her head, and she was passing blood. Her brave little heart simply couldn’t fight anymore.

Hannah and her family prayed they would make it back to the hospital in Guildford in time to be with her for her final moments — and they did. Indy passed peacefully, surrounded by the people who loved her most, knowing she was cherished.

Hannah has always been a responsible dog owner. Both her dogs were insured, and as big dogs getting on in years, that wasn’t cheap — she paid £300 per month for cover up to £7,000. She thought she was protected. But with the ever-rising cost of vet care, it turns out she wasn’t.
