RIP Corey’s car, help him stay employed!

Hi! I’m Corey, and after a long and mostly frustrating life, my Ford Focus has peacefully died. My family and I are in a bind financially (like everyone else), and weren’t able to anticipate this. I have a 3 hour round trip to work every day, and obviously sharing our remaining vehicle isn’t sustainable.
I have a trusted coworker helping me find an affordable and reliable replacement that I can buy outright (my credit is awful), I just don’t know how to get the rest of the funds up other than what little I have coming in wages from this month.
This feels silly. Thank you for reading, please contribute if you can, and if you can’t thank you for reading anyway!

COREY CAR UPDATE: Thank you, so much, to everyone who has donated, shared or reached out already. It’s been a long day. It’s honestly been very touching to both me and Alyssa. I think ive gained a reputation for very elaborate life issues, and i thank you all for being cool with that. I wanted to clarify a few things, because I’m retroactively embarrassed about setting up a GoFundMe over this, and I want to be as transparent as possible. I was able to verify that my car is damaged in a way that while probably fixable (in the short term), is the result of an ongoing issue I’ve had fixed three times already before the extended coverage expired this past July. The cost I was quoted today at the dealership I work at was obscene compared to what the focus is worth and what I’ve already put into it. While there are probably other avenues, my understanding is that this is a design flaw and the problem will continue (the clutch Is my current problem, and this is my second clutch which was ruined by my third TCM). With the commute i have, this isnt an option. Neither is leaving my job. A close coworker of mine is helping me to use the funds I’m trying to acquire to find a late 90’s or early 20’s Honda CRV. This vehicle in particular because a.) price point b.) reliability and c.) space I need for both my family and music stuff. Financing is not an option for me, and this Is the most economical route. Obviously this is a preference, and if push comes to shove I’ll drive anything. I sure as hell didn’t buy my focus on purpose. Also, my original post listed a goal of $4,000. In my initial panic I didn’t include what money i do have coming in while figuring that, so I reduced the goal to $3,000. Again, thank you all so much for your concern and help. I know we aren’t the only family having a rough time financially, and it feels a little ironic because I definitely acknowledge that we have it better than a lot of people right now. I’m lucky to have a problem like this and see a solution on the horizon for it, and I know many aren’t as fortunate. I know this is the first time in my life I’m fortunate enough to. So thanks again. Love you all.

COREY CAR UPDATE 2 -Again, thank you all so much who have shared, reached out, and donated. What’s been put towards the situation already is a huge help, and while we’re not quite there, we’re moving in the right direction. Between the GoFundMe, my job, and hopefully selling whats left of the Focus, I should be able to solve this all in a few weeks. -Shoutout to Austen Morgan for lending me a vehicle in the meantime. It’s been a huge weight off of our shoulders. You’re the realest. -I have an interested party in the Focus, but if I get word that they pass on it, I’ll be listing it on marketplace for $1200. It’s a 2014 Ford Focus Hatcback SE, needs a clutch, a radio, a good interior detail (I’ll do the best I can with it) and maybe a few other things. If that’s something you’re interested in let me know! Please continue to share , comment, react, and donate if possible. I really can’t overstate how helpful everyone has been, and I look forward to reaching out to all of you as soon as I have a second to string a coherent thought together. Also, shoutout to the Delaware music scene as a whole. This whole thing would be so much darker without all of you. Love you all, thank you all.
