Rip and Elliot - Emergency Vet Services

Donation protected
Update 5/18: Elliot is now home on the mend, and we brought Rip home and buried him with his favorite ball in his mouth, and wrapped lovingly in one of his softest blankets this morning. Our total costs are as follows:
Elliot: $984.87 + $2102.03 = $3,086.90
Rip: $1400.24 + $5380.20 = $6,780.44
Total = $9867.34

Update 5/17 @ 5:30am: It is with an extremely heavy heart that I let everyone know that our sweet Rip (bubba) deteriorated so badly overnight that he could not overcome his injuries. The vet and techs that cared for him did absolutely everything in their power to save his life, but sadly we lost our sweet boy in the early hours this morning.

I hate to have to even think about money at a crushing time like this, but now we have a lot of bills AND we don't get to bring our boy home.

If you have the heart to share this with anyone and everyone you know, it would mean the world to us. Every dollar adds up.

Update 5/16 @ 8:30pm: Elliot had some issues with clotting (her aPTT was off the chart) so she required some vitamin K to help with her clotting factors. She was picked up by Debbie and Jack (Ron’s incredible parents- my unbelievably kind parents-in-law) and we will be reunited with her tomorrow. She’s got a tough road ahead but we are up for the challenge. Rip on the other hand is still in limbo in terms of his neurological and physiological functions. He’s being given the best possible care and we’re really hopeful he’s going to turn the corner for the better soon. We will update everyone on his status tomorrow. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated we are so grateful to feel your love and support.

Update 5/16 @ 1pm: Elliot is making progress to the point where we can bring her home tonight. Rip on the other hand requires ongoing care. The estimate for the next 24 hours is $5,839.45 to $7,299.31.

Update 5/16 @ 11am: We spoke to the Vet this morning and they identified tremorgenic myctoxins as the culprit. Elliot's progress is positive, she's improving with methocarbamol and diazepam. Rip on the other hand currently has Pulmonary Edema, Ascites, A-fibrillation, and ventricular conduction defects. He requires 1:1 care for another few days at minimum. We are devastated to say the least, but we're doing everything we can to bring them home and start the rehabilitation process.

5/15 @ 8pm: 2 of our dogs, Rip and Elliot, ate an unknown neurotoxin today and very quickly deteriorated with muscle tremors, and multiple seizures. Their temperatures were both over 110F. We live in a very rural area and our local emergency vet in Littleton NH was able to help them from 8pm until midnight but we are currently transporting them to another veterinary hospital in Concord NH for ongoing treatment and support.

The bill we received for the first 4 hours of treatment was $2,385.11. We know they will need care for another 24-36 hours at minimum, so the total financial impact is not known yet. We are a one income family, my husband is a correctional officer and I graduate from nursing school tomorrow. We love our dogs more than anything, but this is a big financial blow. Any help is beyond greatly appreciated.

All funds raised will go directly to their medical care.
