Hello SFDS Community and Friends,

The outpouring of support for Rio Villamar since his cancer diagnosis in 2021 has meant the world to his family. Over the past three years, Rio has endured many surgeries, difficult procedures, and months of chemotherapy, fighting like a warrior every step of the way. The Villamar’s have been so touched by your prayers, compassion, the sea of yellow on Rio’s Crew days, and your unwavering support.

Rio’s most recent scan showed that the cancer has spread even further, and sadly, there are no cures. With no definitive timeline, the Villamar’s are enjoying every day with Rio, and are striving to spend special times together as a family.

Many of you graciously continue to ask how you can help. We created this page for that very purpose. This is the time to come together and make some dreams come true for Rio.

The Villamar’s have an exciting Summer planned, including a trip to New York with a very special experience for Rio. We would love to help make this trip, and all their other plans and ideas, not only possible, but extraordinary!
