I’m AJ Velador, and I belong to a coalition of business owners from our industry that spans coast-to-coast with a strong presence here in Texas. The United Hemp Union was organized to help push legislation in our favor and stand up for fellow business owners like Trevor Kocaoglan with RioCBD in Harlingen, TX from unlawful seizures and detention from law enforcement.
Trevor has asked for our assistance because he was violated by Harlingen PD on June 6th, 2023 when local PD raided RioCBD retail shop, as well as his mother's house. Police only found D8 products at the store and arrested him for felony distribution. No marijuana was found, and only Delta 8 and other CBD related items were seized. All products had their Certificate of Analysis present and Trevor tried explaining the difference between legal CBD/D8 products and illegal Marijuana, and for 3 days even offered consulting services with the police department, but ultimately, they refused to listen.
Trevor needs help from all of us, which is why our organization under Trevor’s direct authority has created this page for him and all proceeds go to his freedom. We never take a commission and we are strictly a resource to help Trevor and RioCBD avoid this unfortunate situation.
We all have respect for law enforcement and their tough job, but we’re all aware they lack the proper Hemp education. Trevor has a very strong case against the police dept and lawyers plan to ask for dismissal. As of today, we raised $2000 in cash that was used towards his bail and the United Hemp Union with members CannaBanana & Exclusive Hemp Farms has donated products of compliant top shelf flower and Premium CBd edibles to Trevor and RioCBD to keep him afloat while he works through this situation.
Trevor has hired former Judge, Gilbert Hinojosa, who now serves his private practice and Hemp advocacy. Mr. Hinojosa is working on a dismissal and a way to educate law enforcement. Mr. Hinojosa has agreed to work hand in hand with the Texas Hemp Industry and will be a great ally for us moving forward. We need to raise 10k for his legal expenses; no matter how big or small, your contribution will be recognized by fellow industry leaders across Texas. He was a former judge in Cameron County. He has served his fellow Texans as a county, district court, and court of appeals judge in both appointed and elected capacities. Gilbert Hinojosa is currently in private practice in Brownsville and will now be specializing in CBD and Hemp defense with the United Hemp Union.
