Hi, My name is Shaun, and I wish to raise funds to Help Rathbone Amateur Boxing club.

Rathbone Amateur Boxing Club (RABC) has been through a tough time recently, having to find a new home. They are now based in a gym in Clapham Junction — but the ring and equipment are in desperate need of replacement. Right now, the club is struggling to fully support its boxers and cannot bring in new members or expand its life-changing programmes until the gym is properly equipped. It’s a vicious circle, and that’s why we need your help to lift them up.

RABC is run as a Community Interest Company (CIC), meaning it is a not-for-profit organisation. Every penny raised goes directly back into the club - supporting the boxers, maintaining the gym, rent, and funding the outreach programs that make such a difference in the community.

At the heart of RABC is Rachel Bower, Met Detective Inspector by day, Boxing Coach by night - a former Team GB boxer who has dedicated her life to giving back through the sport. Rachel does phenomenal work not only in the ring but also across the wider community, using boxing to tackle social issues, build confidence, and create safe spaces for people of all backgrounds.

Rathbone ABC is about so much more than boxing. Their outreach has won national recognition, including the London Sport Award for Uniting London and the One You Westminster award for their heart health project. Through free and inclusive sessions, they’ve:

Helped young people build confidence and life skills through Boxwise.

Supported adults at risk of heart disease with #FightTogether boxing and fitness sessions.

Championed female boxing and hosted events covered by Sky Sports, inspiring the next generation.

Delivered FIGHT CONNECT, supporting young people’s mental wellbeing through non-contact boxing.

Created award-winning LGBTQ+ inclusive programmes, ensuring everyone feels welcome.

This is a club that changes lives. I know this first-hand. Six years ago, I was going through significant mental health challenges. Rachel and her gym gave me not only a safe space, but also the training, support, structure, and encouragement that helped me turn things around. Without them, I truly don’t know if I’d still be here today.

Now it’s my turn to help them.

Rathbone ABC desperately needs a new ring and equipment to continue supporting their boxers and expanding their outreach. Every penny raised will go directly to giving them the facilities they need to carry on this vital work — for kids, adults, and communities who depend on them.
