Rin Yon's Funeral Expenses

Hello All,

My name is Rumdoul and on behalf of my family, I am starting a GoFundMe on the passing of our beloved father, Rin Yon. He recently passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Pomona Valley Hospital in Pomona, CA. He was 59.

My father, a Cambodian immigrant, was born and raised in Battambang, Cambodia. He and his siblings, Ngath and Srouch Yon were survivors of the Khmer Rouge invasion in 1975. They later migrated as refugees to the Providence, RI in 1982 with sponsorship. My father and his siblings were able to learn to live independently and experienced the freedom they never had.

Wanting to live “the” California Dream, he, and his oldest sister, Ngath, decided on a big move with the family in 1987 where they settled in Pomona, CA. As we grew up, we had always remembered taking trips with him to a factory where he worked as a seamstress. He had always done what he could to make ends meet. My father was later employed by Hewlett Packard where he assisted in manufacturing solar panels. His favorite pastimes were doing family picnics at Frank G. Bonelli Park and Fairmount Park with the rose gardens located in Riverside, CA. During his retirement, he enjoyed weekend fishing trips and spending time with his grandkids.

Rin is survived by his five kids: Boseba, Vannarak, Sopaun, Rumdoul, and Leanda; seven grandchildren: Ethan, Saren, Samantha, Landon, Jayce, Scarlett, and Remedy; and countless nieces and nephews.
