WHAT HAPPENED
On Friday eve, March 17th, it was clear something wrong was happening with Riley. After eating a St. Patty's meal prepared by his sister he went for a walk. During his walk, he became imbalanced, disoriented, and the left side of his face was droopy. Riley had been struggling with some symptoms for several months, but Emily determined that he needed prompt medical attention. He was rushed to St. Lukes where they ran several tests and found a brain tumor the size of an apricot growing above his pituitary gland.
WHY THE MONETARY GOAL
We are expecting Riley and Ashley will not be able to work for 6 months. This goal is to help cover the cost of living for the Swanks through Riley's surgeries and recovery. Ashley will be the full-time caretaker and will likely have to pause her schooling and prepare to be employed after the "dust settles."
