Riley’s IWK fund
Beschermde donatie
Hello,
My name is Angela Pineau and I’m starting this page for my amazing daughter Amber Moore and her loving fiancé Anthony Bourgoin. My sweet grandson Riley was born premature at just under 31 weeks on Dec 5th 2022 at the IWK in Halifax. Born weighing only 2.2lbs, he started his life off fighting and he is such a little warrior. He was transferred back to the NICU in Charlottetown December 15th and was making leaps and bounds enough to be released to go home on January 13th.
Unfortunately, on wed January 18th, Amber noticed the baby stopped breathing and not moving during a normal feeding and bravely had to preform CPR on little Riley for 5 minutes until the ambulance arrived. He was rushed to QEH where he was intubated, X-rayed, and tested for everything they could test for.
Despite not letting anyone visit, and only going to Dr’s appointments, our sweet Riley has been diagnosed with RSV. RSV is tough on adults much less a premature baby that already is fighting so many other things. The doctor made the decision that because of how tiny he is and how potential the severity this could be for him, he was medevaced to the IWK last night.
The update from this morning is that he again stopped breathing at 5:45 am and he had to be bagged to get him breathing again. He still has a big fight ahead of him but he is in amazing hands at the IWK.
Due to a mix up on EI, Amber still hasn’t gotten any money since having to leave her job as an ECE at Holland College. As a very young couple, the past few months going back and forth to Halifax and now this happening with no knowledge of how long they will be there, they are very strained financially.
They understand this is a financially tough time for many, but every dollar counts.
We would like to thank the incredible staff at the QEH and the IWK for all of their continued support and how amazing they take care of our family.
What the funding will be used towards:
-Hotel/Airbnb
-Gas for travel
-Bridge fees
-Food
-Prescriptions
-General Bills
-Therapy * this has been traumatic for both Mom and Dad so therapy is very much needed
-continued trips to Halifax for medical treatments in the future
Anything you can donate will relieve at least some of the weight off their shoulders so they can focus on just loving on Riley who is above all else the main concern.
