We are reaching out today to share the story of Riley, a brave young lad living with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (RDEB) — a severe genetic skin disorder that causes his skin to blister and peel with even the smallest friction or trauma. This rare condition is caused by mutations in the COL7A1 gene, which affects the production of type VII collagen — a vital protein that helps keep the skin strong and intact. Without it, Riley faces constant pain, blistering, and scarring on both his skin and mucous membranes.

Riley and his family live here in Halifax, and despite the immense challenges he faces, Riley’s courage and spirit have touched everyone who has met him. He joined us at our last Firestar Championship Wrestling event, and every single member of our team was moved by his strength and positivity.

We at Firestar Championship Wrestling want to do everything we can to support Riley and his family. That’s why we’ve created a GoFundMe page to help with the many costs they face, including medical treatments and frequent hospital visits to Birmingham — sometimes as often as weekly.
