Riley’s Eagle Project:Bee Pollinator Houses

Donation protected
My name is Riley Cordero I am a part of troop 173 in Central Florida and this fundraiser is for my Boy Scout eagle project. My eagle project will be buying, creating, and installing bee pollinator house for solitary bee species in the area. Florida is home to over 300 species of native bees, and most of them are solitary, meaning they don’t have hives and live on their own. Some of the most common solitary bees here include:Mason bees, Leafcutter bees, Carpenter bees and Sweat bees. These bees nest in holes in wood, dead plant stems, or sandy soil-but urban development is reducing those natural nesting spots. Bee houses give them back safe, dry places to raise their young.
