My name is Riley Boyce and I am currently in my sophomore year at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, New Jersey. Although my course of study is academic, I am very active with school choral activities. My musical accomplishments include Freshmen Mixed Choir 2015, Mixed Concert Choir 2016, Chorale 2016, and Noteworthy 2016; a male acapella group. I am involved in a total of 9 choirs between school and my community. I student direct the Children's Choir at our church. I am also a second year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society singing with the Hunterdon Harmonizers. In addition, I am a member of the True Voice Project at Hunterdon Academy of the Arts. This spring I will also be student directing Shrek The Musical at J.P. Case Middle School.
I have been offered the honor of traveling to Europe in the summer of 2017 with the American Music Abroad Honor Bands, Choirs and Orchestras program. The trip will be for almost three weeks. The countries included in my tour will be France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland. We will perform numerous concerts for European audiences while traveling. At each itinerary stop, we will also take part in sightseeing, and cultural and educational activities. This experience will not only benefit me as far as furthering my musical education, but will also expand my knowledge of the lifestyles and cultures of different countries.
I am seeking sponsorship for the European tour. Due to my age, I have been unable to earn the funds needed to cover the expense of the tour. I am also the eldest of 4 children and my parents are not in a position to provide me with the total funds needed for the tour. Therefore, I am looking for sponsors who would be interested in providing me with an opportunity to participate in an educational and musical experience that will further enhance my appreciation for the arts.
The total cost of the Tour will be approximately $6000.00, including transportation, food, and lodging. I am obligated to have a substantial portion of the tour payment completed by February 2017 with additional payments March 1st and April 15th. I would greatly appreciate any assistance in helping me achieve my goal of participation in the American Music Abroad Summer Music Tour 2017.
