At the end of October, Rik Baganha received the devastating news that he has colorectal cancer at just 42 years old. What began as a few concerning symptoms quickly became a diagnosis that no family ever expects to hear.

Rik is now preparing to begin treatment with his care team at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. The days ahead will bring countless appointments, difficult decisions, and an emotional journey that will touch every part of the Baganha family’s lives. 

Rik and Megan are loving parents to their 3-year-old son, Luka, and this diagnosis has deeply impacted their young family, as you can imagine.

They have a long road ahead, including chemotherapy, probable radiation, and surgery. Over the past several years, they’ve faced other challenges no couple should ever have to endure, yet they’ve met each one with remarkable strength and resilience. I have no doubt they will continue to do so with the support of everyone who loves them.

I’m raising funds to help them get ahead of the financial burdens that come with a cancer diagnosis so they can focus on treatment, Rik’s health, and being together as a family.
