Hi friends! Rigby has been my best pal for the last 11 years. Everyone who knows Rigby knows he is full of life and so loved! In December, they found a cancerous tumor on his anal gland. While in preparation for surgery to remove this tumor, they found another mass on his spleen. We are waiting on the radiology results to see if this is also cancer, but his spleen must be removed either way because the mass could rupture. Surgery costs continue to grow, and the reality is I likely have to prepare to say goodbye to my best friend sometime this year. My priority is making sure he has a good quality of life and a happy rest of his days. Any amount donated will go towards covering the cost of his surgery and end of life care. Update: Unfortunately the cancer has spread to his lungs and surgery is no longer advised. The vet estimates we have about 2-3 months left with him. His blood count is low, but remains stable, so we will keep an eye on that in case he needs a blood transfusion to keep him stable. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love we have received. He is home now and resting, and he seems to still be in good spirits. We will cherish whatever time we have left together and make the best of his days! <3
