One Daughter. One Mission. One Ride.

Every year, The Tour 21 selects a small group of amateur cyclists to take on the full Tour de France route—a staggering 3,500km in 21 days—one week ahead of the professionals. In July 2026, I will join them as one of only 25 riders from a worldwide selection pool.

Biking the Tour de France is a lifelong dream of mine, but I’m not undertaking the challenge for fame. My mission is deeply personal: I ride for my daughter, Lucy, who was diagnosed with leukemia at just 17 years old.

Decades of research into TKIs (the type of medication she takes), allow her to maintain her health with minimal adverse side effects. She's happy, healthy, and enjoying life as any 19-year-old should. We are incredibly fortunate that this is the case for Lucy. Without the medication development from the past 30 years, her time during and after treatment may have been very different.

Riding with the Tour21 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dedicate this monumental effort to hope. Every day that researchers continue development of specialized medication—those targeting cancerous cells without damaging the immune system—creates opportunities for patients with leukemia to not just survive their treatment but thrive. It provides hope to families that such treatment plans may work for them, too. It opens the possibility that their children may live the vibrant, full lives every child deserves, despite experiencing what no one should.
