Rideshare for Kyla Mainous! #jerksstoleherwhip
Kayla Mainous is one of the hardest working people and professional musicians in the area. She was the victim of car theft last week and needs funds to rideshare to work & gigs while she recovers her car. This isn't a hand out, this is a hand up!
On May 24, Kyla Mainous was a victim of car theft. Kyla is a full time musician, playing 5-6 shows a week, and aiming for 300 shows this year. She was playing at The Main Street Tavern in Covington. Two minor girls came into the bar, stole her purse, found her keys and figured out her car was parked right out front. They drove it four blocks into a stone wall. Luckily the girls were not hurt, and they were caught, but Kyla’s car was totaled. She only had liability insurance, and the cops said the likelihood of actually seeing restitution would be slim.
Because of what Kyla does, she desperately depends on having a car. She has had an outpouring of support from the community. There are two benefits being held for her, but several people have reached out asking to start a GoFundMe for her. This GoFundMe will cover Uber rides for Kyla to get to gigs when she doesn’t have a ride, cost of a new car, and any possible legal fees she encounters suing the family.
Kyla wishes to express her deep gratitude to the community. Without your help, she would have lost gigs. But you’ve rallied for her, and she feels deeply loved and cared for. Any help you can give is appreciated, big or small. Thank you!!
***UPDATE from Glenn Kukla June 3, 2019: Thank you everyone so far who was contributed! I have set up Kyla to be able to directly withdraw from this campaign. All contributions will go directly into her bank account when she makes a request to gofundme. She will use these funds to pay for rideshares (Uber, Lyft, etc).
