Rider band student selected for Macy's Parade!

Hi! My name is Jordan Tolleson, and I'm a junior at S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas. I am very involved in my school and my community; I'm a member of the powerlifting team and the national honor society, as well as hospice's first teen volunteer board. However, if you know me, you know that music is my passion and what I spend most of my time with. I currently play the trombone in the Rider varsity wind ensemble, jazz band, and the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra. In addition to playing in these groups, I teach trombone lessons at the Wichita Falls Music Academy, serve as a Rider band officer, and do lots of independent study. I have also won several accolades, including region band ranking, area qualification, state advancement in solo performance, and most importantly:

This year, I took a leap of faith and auditioned for the historical Macy's Great American Marching Band. I am beyond honored to say that I was accepted for the 2022 parade! I will march as one of 185 musicians from all across the nation in the 96th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I am so incredibly honored and excited to represent Texas, Wichita Falls, and Rider in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. However, it does come at a price- I will need to pay a room & board fee, as well as for my (and my trombone's!) travel to New York City. As we all know, spending a week in New York is not necessarily cheap! That is why I am asking for your kind donation. Any little bit helps, and I am so grateful for all of your support. I can't wait to represent the small town that has given me so much at this year's parade.
