Trans-America Ride for Education

I am riding 4233 miles across American to raise money for education. My wife and I plan to raise enough money to create a scholarship for high school students who show financial need and who show determination in reaching their educational goals. Our goal is to be able to offer a $1000 scholarship each year for the next 10 years, starting with this graduating class in 2014.

On June 7th, 2014 there will be 35 cyclists leaving Astoria, Oregon and riding 4,233 miles to Yorktown, Virginia. I am registered as one of those cyclists. I will be using this very unique event to both fulfill a personal goal and to raise money for scholarships for our students.

I have acquired one sponsor already who is helping with the equipment I will need. This ride is unsupported which means that I will have to carry everything I might need to camp, eat, or make repairs as I ride. (I can also shop along the way as needed.)

Please help me spread the word. All monies raised will go towards the scholarship.
