Around 8 cyclist drive approx. 800 km in 4 days with their bikes from Basel to Utrecht to raise money for a fantastic non-profit organisation called NICAPLAST!
What is NICAPLAST?
Every 500th child in the world is born with a cleft lip and cleft palate oro-facial malformation. While access to adequate medical treatment is a matter of course in our country, affected children in Nicaragua – the second poorest country in the western world – receive no or only inadequate treatment.
For almost 30 years, the NICAPLAST team has been travelling to Nicaragua for two weeks every year to help the children on site. Of course, the training of future Nicaraguan surgeons and dentists is also very important to us. Therefore a significant part of our missions is the training and education of local medical professionals.
A decisive prerequisite for our work and our missions is the preparation and support by the Swiss Nicaplast Group and the German Nicaplast Group as well as by the Nicaraguan organization “NICAPLAST". It consists of about 25 medically and non-medically active persons, who work voluntarily and on a voluntary basis, using their own financial means and who have come together to help in the advancement of plastic surgery, facial surgery and hand surgery in Nicaragua within the scope of their possibilities.
Please help us with your donation and support our work for our patients in Nicaragua. Without your generous support our medical aid work in Nicaragua would not be possible. In addition to our medical instruments, we have to take all surgical and anesthesiological consumables with us. We finance our voluntary work and the purchase of food and medicine for needy patients purely through donations.
With a donation you help us to help the suffering small and bigger patients in Nicaragua locally and to carry out urgently needed operations. The NICAPLAST groups are organized on a voluntary basis. We as #rideforacause riders want to make help in making a difference in the life of the kids and support this doctors/heros who investing a lot of their holidays every year to make this difference happen.
