Ride With Ben & Support His Battle With Cancer

Update #1:

Thanks to all of you who have donated so far, Ben’s stress about his bills piling up already has lightened up. Your money will be going toward Ben’s rent at Highland Manor in Independence, Mo, his and his son’s phone bill, electric bill with IPL, dogfood for his pup Bruce, gas and some other essentials or misc bills. This means the world to us. To him. He is able to focus purely on his treatment and his family. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you immensely. Ben had his first chemo treatment last week. It took its toll for the first couple of days after but yesterday Ben really had a great day and night! I know his mom, sister and I were beyond thankful for the night of little league baseball games that Ben volunteer coaches. He is right at home on that field with the boys and able to have a freeing moment during this difficult phase. There is a silent auction fundraiser in the world along with a benefit breakfast, and t shirts we should have more information soon on all of those things. We are also trying to organize a benefit ride if anyone would like to help out with that. Thank you again everyone, please continue sharing and praying!

As Jaxson’s mom, and one of Ben’s lifelong best friends/family members, I am tearfully writing this message to our family, friends, and acquaintances of Ben and our family, to help ease the pain of this heart-wrenching situation.

If you have not heard already, Benjamin (Jaxson’s Daddy) has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of esophageal cancer that has metastasized and is in stage IV. We are absolutely devastated beyond comprehension. We are still dazed and in a fog from this. There are certain details about that, that our son doesn’t quite understand yet. We are just broken. He is 35 years young. Nothing matters anymore; just being there for family is our golden treasure in this world. We are gutted, but we are determined to seek advice, miracle work, and whatever we physically can do to aid Ben during this dark road we have been led to.

While Ben does have medical insurance through his job, who have been amazing working with him, there are plenty of things left unpaid for. As Jaxson and Kinzlee’s mom full-time, my second job I am regretful but honored to take is to be Ben’s caregiver. It’s what I have to do; it’s what I want to do. There are so many bills piling up, and the last thing I want Ben to stress about is a bill. I’ve told him, “You don’t worry about rent, Ben; you have other things to focus on. You have people that care about you; you don’t have to worry about those things anymore.” Please help me show him he does indeed have a great deal of people that he has truly touched in their lives and dealing with Ben. Everyone knows his gentle giant hero spirit, fun-loving kid at heart who loves to eat. He cannot even eat anymore; please do not send food or things of that nature out of respect for his love to smell and enjoy some good food. He wants you to do that for him.
