On Sat 21 Nov - I and others will be cycling up the Rift Valley on a road that will test our legs, but also take us through thrilling landscapes with majestic views

We are climbing 1,550meter (over 5,000feet) on a 30 km ride from the Afar border to Ankober Palace.  All this to raise money for some of those suffering most due to COVID-19.

We all know that the tourism industry has been devastated - but the freelance cooks, guides, scouts, drivers etc - who have been without an income for 7 months are in a desperate situation. Some have no alternative source of income and have families struggling to survive.[Cooks from the local village at a community guesthouse in the Simiens]

We aim to get 60 cyclists who will raise money for 60 struggling families. We are looking to raise a total of £12,500 GBP - or 600,000 Eth Birr - to get each family 10,000 birr (just over £200) which will be an enormous help to them. The more we raise the more families we can help. 

We need your support now as we will be providing the families with money in the days after 21 November.  Every penny you sponsor (less the GoFundMe transaction fee 2.9%) will go to these families.
