TGWDLM! LAMDA MFA Musical Theatre & Classical Show
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Robert! I'm one of the MFA Musical Theatre students at LAMDA. In the latter half of our course and much of this time is formulating our own projects. This is one of those projects. Our creative team, all comprised of MFA Classical & Musical Theatre students aim to put on a musical right in LAMDA building projected around March 28th. The musical in question is Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell's cult classic, Ride The Cyclone. Now I'm very sure the next thought is, what's Ride The Cyclone?
In short, Ride the Cyclone is a contemporary musical that explores many dark themes such as death, existentialism, and identity and places them in a very absurd, cabaret-esque performance through the lives of 6 members of a choir group from Uranium City, Saskatchewan, Canada. Through these people, we take a wild rollercoaster ride of emotions (pun intended) as each of the members deciphers what makes a life worth living.
In our time putting this project together, we realized there was a hurdle. We needed the funding for this if we wanted to make this a reality. Which is what brings us here. This budget will allow us to pay for the licensing of the show and pay for instrumental and musical tracks in order to give you all the full experience of this insanely good piece. This also includes archival footage, so those who can't make it in-person will be able to view it online after the live showings! For those interested, please use the CONTACT option below, using the email you want to receive the link to once it's up. You may also follow me on [email redacted]ert.voigt for live updates of the piece.
Our rehearsal period is going to be from January 28th until our first performance on March 28th, so we are in a very quick turn around time to get this primed and ready to rehearse!
Lastly, any excess funds we have with this project will be aimed at us sending funds to aid with the on-going LA Fires.
Please donate whatever you can and/or please share.
Thank you so much and enjoy the ride!!
