In August 2022, Aliina Keers (AKE) finished the longest, toughest horse race in the world — the 620+ mile long Mongol Derby across Genghis Khan’s postal route. Now she has passed all interviews and been invited to participate in the Gaucho Derby, a similar endurance event on horseback also part of the Equestrianist’s World Series. Billed as “the greatest test of horsemanship on earth,” the Gaucho Derby requires participants to navigate and camp through the wilderness of Patagonia. The next race is in February 2026. Just like last time, Aliina has what it takes to succeed. But her race spot isn’t actually secured until her entry fee is in. And since she’s a blue-collar working girl with a career in hunt service (where most of the money literally goes to the dogs), she doesn’t have that fee. She needs to fundraise! The cost of entry, which supports the vast logistics of the 300+ mile wilderness race as well as the vanishing culture of the gauchos, their horses, and their estancias, is $17,500 USD.

The minimum must be reached as soon as possible to ensure her spot isn’t sold off to a higher bidder, with the goal of March 31, 2025 (so she can book her flights to El Calafate in Patagonia in advance). If not, Aliina will miss her chance to entertain, inspire, and educate thousands across the world — and so will you!
