New Ride for Rockameem

Mr. Rockameem Bell is a true pillar of the Madison community.  Mr. Bell is an educator, storyteller, song-leader, cultural embassador, performer, and master percussionist.  He has been sharing traditional West African rhythm and song and building community with the Madison community for over 30 years.  Mr. Bell is a USMC veteran, a father and an elder to many.  Percussion students that began studying with Mr. Bell have gone on to be nationally recognized teachers and scholars.

Mr. Bell is a resourceful and innovative educator, and has influenced 2 generations of musicians in Madison.  He's also long been creative and passionate enough to pursue his work with many volunteer hours and limited financial support.  He is now looking to move into another chapter, with better financial security and more independence.  As a community we can support this by donating toward the purchase of a personal car. 

Having independent transportation will allow Rockameem to build his capacity for teaching and doing  community service.  Please join us in making this a possibility for Mr. Bell.  

$3,000 dollars will be dedicated to buying a used light SUV.  We're working together to buy, inspect and update a small, dependable and efficient car.  Local used car sales have good options.  We have a shop on hand for a full inspection and basic repairs.
