London to Brighton Ride for Chris – Fighting Glioblastoma Together
On Sunday 15th June, I’ll be cycling from London to Brighton to raise vital funds for a cause that’s deeply personal to me — supporting life-enhancing treatment for my dear friend Chris Rigg, who was diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM) in September 2023.
GBM is an aggressive and devastating form of brain cancer, with a typical prognosis of just 18–24 months. But if you know Chris, you’ll know he’s not someone who gives up easily. He’s facing this battle with strength, positivity, and an unshakable spirit — taking each day as a gift and focusing on the things that truly matter.
I first met Chris back in 1992 at Leicester University, and he’s been one of my closest friends ever since. He and his wife Jenn are raising three amazing teenage children, and they’re navigating this incredibly tough journey together.
Unfortunately, the treatment options that could help extend and improve Chris’s life aren’t available on the NHS. That’s why I’m getting on my bike — to help raise the funds needed to give Chris a fighting chance and to support his beautiful family in any way we can.
Every donation, no matter the size, truly makes a difference. If you’re able to support this ride — and this incredible man — I’d be incredibly grateful.
Let’s help give Chris more time, more memories, and more hope.
Thank you.
