On Monday October 18th 2021 Chris was on his motorcycle taking a ride and was hit by a deer in the rural area of Medford. Thankfully 2 other people witnessed the accident and were able to contact 911 immediately. We are so thankful for all the first responders & emergency medical services for their swift work.
Due to head injuries he was airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Chris sustained a skull fracture, broken ribs, broken nose & fractured scapula. He has spent a week in the ICU Unit making small progress each day. After a week he was moved to Intermediate Care, and now after two weeks he has been moved to rehabilitation.
We are now entering the early stages of rehabilitation. There are still a lot of unknowns as we move forward. Chris’s insurance will cover some of the medical expenses, but when he is able to return home he will need 24/7 rehabilitative care as he re-learns skills that we all take for granted.
It is unclear as to a time frame on when he will be able to return to work. While Chris goes through his rehabilitation he still has living expenses for his 3 kids and himself. This Go Fund Me will help support those living expenses and any medical bills.
All funds will be managed by Chris’ mother Faye as well as myself so that his monthly bills are taken care of. Chris and his family express the utmost gratitude to the First Responders, Nurses and Doctors for all that they have done for Chris. We also cannot express how grateful we are to still have a son, a brother, a father and a friend.
