a little bit about Ellie’s journey.
Ellie Roling was a 17 year old who was outgoing - enthusiast and lovely young lady, until one half term when see felt tiered.
We took her to the hospital and she had some blood tests, the doctor said we didn’t need the results of the test as she only had tonsillitis and to go home with antibiotics.
At around 4am we received a phone call to advice us to take Ellie to the nearest hospital, we took her to Coventry hospital and got taken to a room were two doctors sat us down and just told us Ellie has Leukaemia and she needs treatment straight away.
This was 23rd Feb 2017.
Ellie underwent chemotherapy and then a stem cell transplant. 6 months after her stem cell transplant Ellie had a sore stomach, so we took her back to hospital and after some test they told us she had relapsed and there was nothing else they could do.
Ellie told them that they weren’t going to leave her to die and she started looking for some drugs to help her.
She found some and got the doctor to get them. They did and after abit they worked for her and nearly got her into remission, the following month they stopped working.
The doctors told her that this time there was definitely nothing else, and once again Ellie found another drug.
Unfortunately by the time she received these drugs it was to late and she passed away on the 19th October 2018.
Ellie fought every step of the way.
We will always love and remember you Ellie May Roling ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
