Ride for Aoibheann: Support Ireland's Children with Cancer

Donation protected
The 2024 cycling ride was not only an experience unlike any other, but also one that was a success beyond measure -- so much so, in fact, that we are going back for Part 2 in September 2025.

After decades of raising money for myriad organizations, I have shifted my attention to Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. Pink Tie exists to provide practical and financial support to children suffering from cancer in Ireland and their families.

This organization was created in 2010 by Mick Rochford and Jimmy Norman after the death of Jimmy’s 8-year-old daughter, Aoibheann, from a rare type of cancer. At Aoibheann’s funeral, the men wore pink ties -- the name Pink Tie thus dubbed in her memory.

To help remedy the lack of support to other families on the ward battling cancer, Mick and Jimmy started raising funds for one family at a time. After fifteen years, they have gained the momentum to become the go-to children’s charity, ultimately helping thousands of families with a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Starting in Newcastle West, we will be cycling over 250 miles down the west coast of Ireland, landing at the Garden of Remembrance in Kinsale. Four days of riding with FDNY members and Ireland's National Retained Firefighters, we are joined together as one team to raise mental health awareness, as well as funds and support for Ireland's children and families.

Please consider donating to help this cause - no dollar amount is too small, and the more you are able to share this link with, the merrier!

With love,
