We are Kumnit Kumar Organisation (https://kumnitkumar.org), a Cambodian association, and we welcome over 150 children every day in our community center in Andong, a slum in Phnom Penh.

The center offers kindergarten classes, academic support for children, a small library, and creative activities that help children grow up curious and happy. The children also have a small committee where they can make their voices heard.

The center was initially built in 2007 by CIAI and its management was transferred to KKO in 2021. Over the years, CIAI helped develop competence in child protection of rights in Cambodia. Through their support, KKO has remained committed to advocating for child participation, education, and sustainable community development.

For many of them, it is the only place where they can receive a hot, nutritious meal, which is essential for their growth and well-being.

Unfortunately, the lunch space where the children take their meals is falling apart: the roof is unsafe, the wood structure supporting the lunch area is unstable and deteriorating, the floor is damaged, and every day, it’s more at risk of closing.

To make the lunch space safe again, some of the children’s parents will also participate in the reconstruction work. This not only ensures a protected environment for daily meals but also provides work opportunities for families living in poverty, directly supporting the local community.

To make this room safe again and continue to offer children a protected environment where they can eat and grow, we need €2,000. It is not an impossible amount to reach, but we need your help. If we are unable to raise the entire amount, we will still use the funds raised to carry out the most urgent work, so as to at least guarantee a safe and stable environment for the children's daily meals.

Thank you for your support!
