Rico was rushed to the hospital on the night of October 17th after waking up to sudden loss of feeling in his legs. After being transferred to 3 different hospitals and doctors preforming 5 MRIs, 2 CT scans, and countless tests on Rico, doctors finally came to the conclusion that Rico suffered from and a severe spinal condition causing his spinal cord to come out of his spine and be pinched. He was rushed into emergency surgery in hopes that Rico would regain the ability to walk. Rico had to undergo a 6 hour complicated spine surgery. He’s been surrounded by Gods grace and our prayer warriors. Rico is now in the ICU undergoing extensive care. The road to recovery is going to be rough but we are hopeful Rico will be able to walk again. Rico is in high spirits and he is blessed to all of the support he has received.

About Rico:

Rico is the primary provider for his wife and three children. Rico is greatly loved by all. He is a great contributor to not only the community, but also to his family and friends. One can always count on Rico to be there in a time of need. Rico has a very selfless heart he loves to help others and loves his community. Rico has made a positive impact on the children he’s coached and their parents. Rico loves his job working as the Lead Janitor for Tulare Western High School. Unfortunately, due to his unexpected emergency surgery he will be unable to work at this time. Rico is very heartbroken that he cannot go to work. He is going to miss working with all his Mustang Family. The doctors told Rico that he will be in the hospital for a long period of time.

The family has created a “Go Fund Me” account to provide temporary financial assistance during this time of hardship and road to recovery.
