Hi, my name is Danny Mitchell and I am a long time friend and coach of current BKFC European Champion Rico Franco.

Many of you will know his story already, but he has suffered massively with Colitis and had his entire bowel removed. He has been carrying on training and fighting with an Ileostomy bag, but now needs further major surgery to remove his rectum (meaning his bag cannot be reversed) and also more surgery to correct problems with his stoma.

Now Rico never complains, just gets on with it, Ive seen him literally sh@tting blood between rounds in training camps (including the last one) and really struggle with his health over the years.

His last fight he took on Jimmy Sweeney for the 3rd time and put on one of the craziest fights you will ever see, capturing the European BKFC belt. Unfortunately these guys don't get paid even half of what they deserve, and now despite being in a great position to have some big fights, he must have this major surgery which will see him sat on the sidelines for a while until he can recover and get back to full training.

Me and Brodie decided to make this fund for him (Rico will hate this but I dont care) in order to help support him while he takes time off to heal up. He has his own gym, but most of his income there comes from the PT sessions that he does, and during this time he wont be able to do any PT's so I think its really important to try help him out, and keep things stress free so he can get back healthy and go for the BKFC title!

Rico is a great role model for all fighters, in fact anyone who is struggling in life, big thanks to everyone for the support!
