Hi, my name is Ricky Lethridge Jr. and I’m 28 yrs old. I have a loving pug by the name of Boris and currently live in Houston Texas.

TL;DR

The reason for this fundraiser is to help me raise some money for my upcoming radiation treatment for my Stage 1 Testicular Cancer.

As most people at the start of every new year, I set a goal to lose 60lbs at the beginning of the year. I started to make healthier choices in my diet and actually started to see some results in my stamina & physique. Sometime near the end of January, I started to experience pain in my lower abdomen. After seeing my doctor and having tests done, it was concluded that I had Testicular Cancer. I had surgery in February to remove the cancerous mass before any further treatment. The surgery was successful however, now I’m seeking radiation therapy to prevent any other cancer to develop and spread. If you can give anything that would be most appreciated. My first appointment to formally start radiation therapy this summer is this Thursday June 24th.

If you know me, I’m not one to ask for help, especially when I need it. I’ve always tried to get by on my own or by as little help as possible. This time is different. In the early months of this, I wasn’t really even able to vocalize my diagnosis. Some days I still feel a bit awkward saying it. I’ve been doing some reflecting and I’d like to ask for help because this whole situation has taught me that I cannot get through this by myself. My family has been in great support from the beginning of this journey. However, just how I am, I still feel like a burden on them and I want to see if I can raise the funds for my treatment without any more help from them (if possible). If you aren’t able to donate but can offer some words of wisdom through similar situation, that would help too.
