Hi everyone - my name is Ricky. At 31 years old, I never expected to hear, “You have cancer.” After many months of tests and waiting, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and it changed my whole life. I will be undergoing 12 rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, with my 1st treatment completed and my second round scheduled on 5/26. Each round after will be every other week until I have completed 12 rounds. The road will not be easy but I am determined to beat this with the love and support of my fiancée, family and friends beside me.
While I am grateful for disability covering 60-70% of my wages while I am off of work, the reality is that most of my personal bills (rent, car, insurance gaps, etc.) won’t be deferred. On top of that there are medical expenses not fully covered by insurance - co-pays, scans, medications, and follow up scans/visits to ensure the cancer treatment I complete is effective.
My fiancée and I are doing everything we can but the financial strain is overwhelming. That is why I am asking for your support in helping to cover:
- Medical costs not covered by insurance
- Living expenses while I am unable to work for 6+months
- Future scans & check-ups post cancer treatment to ensure I stay in remission
Anything helps to take some of the weight off my shoulders so I can focus on getting better. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page means a lot to me.
I thank everyone for your kindness, prayers, good energy, and support during this struggle I am facing. I hope to keep everyone updated with my progress over time - I am going to beat cancer!
— Ricky
