Ricky Rose transplant recovery

Hello all we are asking for is help with medical and travel expenses while my niece Ricky Rose recovers. She just recently got transplant surgery for her kidney and liver!

Ricky Roses story: She has had a long and tough journey from the beginning. When she was born early at 35 weeks they found that her kidneys were enlarged. After tests she was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney disease which means her kidneys were covered in cysts filled with fluid all over her kidneys. Due to Ricky being born so early and knowing of her condition she was rushed away from her mother and father right away and taken to a different hospital to be taken care of. She spent her time being hooked up to machines and sedated for the majority of her time. At the age of 1 month old she had her first surgery where they removed both of her kidneys. She then had to begin her journey on dialysis and once again transferred to another hospital, Stanford.
Ricky had not been able to come home until she was about 8 months old. Even then she wasn’t home fully, she still had to travel back and forth for dialysis 4 times a week. Ricky Rose not only has to endure dialysis she also doesn’t eat food the way we all do. She has a g-j tube which was placed surgically in order for her to get the nutrients and medicines she needs until she is ready to eat on her own. This has caused her problems of its own. She has had to have it replaced multiple times which hasn’t been easy. During all this time she has to have different tests done in order to get her ready to be put onto the active transplant list. She has had to have countless blood transfusions, x-rays tons of lab work multiple hospital stays and many nights away from her own bed and family. During the testing they had found that she had something wrong with her liver as well and to get her kidney she would also have to have a liver transplant as well.
Fast forward a little she still wasn’t able to be fully home. She traveled to do dialysis 3 times a week leaving by 4:30 am and sometimes not getting home till 4pm. And that’s not including all the appointments. Recently she was finally placed on the active transplant list and we received the call on July 23 that her kidney and liver were ready for her and she was admitted right there and then. Which means she won’t be able to be with her big brother or little cousins until she is in a safer place with her health.

Ricky rose has had countless procedures, surgeries and hospital stays in order to get her to where she is today. She has had multiple Hemodialysis line replacements around 9 in total, g-j tube replacements and a g-j tube moved to a different location and so much more!!!!

This was just some of the stuff that Ricky Rose and her family has had to deal with for 3 years. Ricky Rose turned 3, June 17th. She is a strong, brave, brilliant, enthusiastic beautiful little girl and she has been since the beginning. We were told not to expect the best that survival rates were not the best. Yet she has overcame those odds and has showed everyone she was a warrior. She got her kidney and liver July 24 and now she’s fighting the road of recovery!

If you or anyone you know would be willing to help us support her and her family during this hard time please share. Anything will help. All money raised will be to help the family out with medical cost or prescriptions not covered by insurance, travel, food and bills that don’t stop. Mom, Dad and Grandma Rosalie are switching out every week so that somebody is always with Ricky Rose and also Matteo in this difficult but beautiful time. And the family would love to thank you for any help that is given to us, we appreciate any help that we receive so THANK YOU
