Ricky and Ed’s House Fire Recovery Fund

*Update* Mordecai’s remains have been found in the wreckage. Thank you everyone for sharing our flyers, he was the most loved and innocent victim of this tragedy. To everyone in our community and everyone that was worried for our sweet boy, thank you.

Our friends Ricky Dormoi and Edward Karl (Prettyboy) tragically lost everything in their house to a fire early Saturday morning. We are asking our community to help roommates Ricky and Ed, pick up the pieces from this.

We know we cannot replace the nostalgic memories of the items lost to the fire. We are aiming to help our two friends out with raising expenses for new places to live plus cost of living expenses between now and then. And additional costs of the remaining bills for the house that caught fire.

If you love the Philly music scene, you know Ricky Dormoi. He devotes more time than anyone into helping the local scene. Anyone that’s played enough gigs has benefitted from Ricky’s time and effort. And for those who work the show promotion scene and care about harm reduction, you’ve known Ed. Of his own commitment, Ed works tirelessly to promote community and outreach. His behind the scenes work makes things like booking and having a well cared for scene possible. Together, their promotion and organizing for Rubbish Records have been a heart of the South Philly community.
