Ricks's Fight Against Cancer

Dear Friends,
In May of 2015 we learned that my father, Rick Trau, had an aggressive tumor on the back of his tongue and he was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer. Due to the aggressiveness of the tumor within one week he had a tracheotomy inserted in his neck and was scheduled for radiation and chemotherapy. By September he had finished his treatment & had a CT scan that appeared to look good. The doctor’s removed the tracheotomy, he returned to work and best of all we thought he beat cancer. We were so relieved.
He went for a check-up almost 2 months later, and then 2 days before Thanksgiving we learned that the cancer had spread throughout his throat. They were considering doing major surgery, until his biopsy results came back showing that the cancer spread to his lungs. The doctors are now considering Cyberknife treatment to save him because they are running out of options at this point.
Health insurance only goes so far, and the medical bills are adding up. Curing my father’s cancer will be very expensive and for that reason, I kindly ask that you provide whatever you can to help my father with medical bills, and to help him stay on his feet. I want him to only focus on his health and not be distracted or stressed with the financial aspects of this horrible disease that has also taken the lives of his father, and his sister just last year.
Anything you can give, no matter how small, will mean so much to me and my family. My dad is too proud to ever ask anyone for help, and he is the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. I am asking for him because he means the world to me and I am not ready to let him go. We look forward to the day when we can say his cancer is cured. Until then, we thank you, so very much, for your help and prayers.
